sustainability in yachting

MYSEA has long been conscious of the environment and supports projects that not only help to offset yachting's environmental impact, but most importantly those which look to eliminate it. We are passionate about travel, adventure and the freedom yachting brings. We want to protect our world for the now, the tomorrow and the many years to come. Together we can fly the flag for ecology and the environment, for those who live by and on the water.

what we're doing

Our Fleet

Reducing emission levels generated by our fleet of yachts, by lowering cruising speeds. We are also working with Captains to educate them on eco-friendly energy sources, such as alternative fuels.

Our Community

Representing organisations and supporting events dedicated to sustainable yachting, working with the local industry to push alternative opportunities.

Globally

Using our presence to push new and alternative yachting opportunities. We shine a light on innovative brands who are committed to protecting our oceans for future generations.

flying the flag for ecology

We are passionate about a cleaner future and choose an initiative each year to support. This year, we have teamed up with the Italian group PERMARE to help raise awareness for their initiative - 'Go Slowly! Respect The Sea'.

‘Go Slowly! Respect The Sea’ is committed to reducing pollution along the coast of Italy. By taking part in this initiative, we hope to reduce noise pollution and air pollution, which will over time help protect the environment - both onshore and out at sea – for animals, coastal towns and tourism. By adding our own fleet of yachts to this, we have increased the protected area to the French coast as well. How does the initiative work? All yachts who sign up set their speed to below 15 knots when cruising within 3 miles of the coast.

Charging Ahead

There has been a significant increase in R&D by shipyards to discover new, inspiring alternatives that can be used in the production process for lower environmental impact.

A great industry advancement has been adapting existing engines to either offset or reduce the carbon footprint. This leap forward has seen a rise in electric propulsion, which in turn has resulted in the introduction of more charging stations in marinas across the world. Today, many new yachts incorporate a sustainable initiative in their design, and we as brokers, are proud to represent the very best sustainable options that offer 100% guilt free sailing.

Greener Production

Alongside R&D into sustainable propulsion, shipyards are now looking to include suppliers into their decision making process, so as to create a cyclical economy where all materials sourced, created, used and recycled have the lowest possible carbon footprint. Materials such as bamboo and sustainable teak can already be seen in the industry and the future is looking bright. Below deck, recycling is also in the spotlight, as engineers and owners look towards adopting synthetic fuels.
